SurvivorsEdit

  • Tiger Ausf.H1 fahrgestell no.250031, turret number 712, National Armor and Cavalry Heritage Foundation, Fort Benning, Georgia. Tiger 712 was originally captured in Tunisia, in May 1943, from the 504th schwerer Panzer Abteilung. Tiger 712 was taken to Aberdeen, Maryland, where she has sat for a long time, rusting away. The turret's left side has been cut out to allow viewing into the turret. Weather has also shattered the bow machine gun ball. It was recently moved to Fort Benning, Georgia, and has been undergoing restoration, which is now nearly finished. There is debate as to what version of tiger 712 is; because it has the older style commander's cupola it is here, under Ausf.H1.
